Youngest Scorer In Indian Super League Suspended After It Emerged He’s 28.

Indian Super League youngest ever goalscorer has allegedly been exposed as a fraud. Back in October, Jamshedpur FC striker Gourav Mukhi netted the equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Bengaluru FC.
And it was a historic moment – with Mukhi listed as 16-years-old and taking the accolade as the ISL’s youngest ever goalscorer.
He was even congratulated on the pitch in his big moment by team-mate and former Everton, Millwall and Australia international Tim Cahill.
He said to the “teen”: “This is the best moment of your life.”
But things have rapidly turned sour for the player sporting a fine moustache.
Mukhi has now been suspended for six months and had his club registration pulled after failing to provide evidence of his age.
The All India Football Federation released a statement, which read: “All India Football Federation (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee has imposed a six-month suspension on Jamshedpur FC player Gourav Mukhi with immediate effect.
“The AIFF Disciplinary Committee found the player Gourav Mukhi guilty on the basis of the evidence presented by him, his admissions and the statements of Manager of U-16 AIFF academy in 2015.
“The AIFF Disciplinary Committee also observed that the existing registration of Gourav Mukhi, both in the Central Registration System (CRS) as well as the Competition Management System (CMS) shall stand cancelled and revoked with immediate effect, with liberty upon the player/his appropriate club, to submit original valid appropriate documents for fresh registration under CRS and CMS.”
